miranda lake

miranda lake is an encaustic collage artist based in new orleans.  she received a ba in art history from the university of north carolina at chapel hill.  miranda has honed her skills at the parsons school of design and the london college of fashion.   her work is exhibited widely across the united states and has been included in several prominent exhibitions including the prestigious new orleans museum of art's triennial exhibition of southern art.  lake has also been a guest instructor at anderson ranch arts center in snowmass, co where she taught her trademark photo encaustic collage process.  her collages at first glance seem surreal or fantastical but deal with issues from the cycles of life, death, decay, renewal and a certain beauty and grace to be found in adversity and heartache be they personal, natural, or man-made.
