we love great art and a lot of it is has been showing up at hidell brooks gallery this fall.  kate long stevenson has just finished a wonderful group of new paintings fresh out of her studio.

hidell brooks gallery had the honor of hosting an event for the juvenile diabetes research fund last weekend with new orleans photographer robert x .fogarty on hand to take portraits of individuals living with diabetes.  

getting new work in by our artists is always a treat.  this week has been full of surprises at hidell brooks.  a gorgeous pair of paintings by abstract painter chris hayman arrived with the smell of wet paint still lingering on the canvas.

there is a wonderful article on eric aho in this month's issue of southern vermont arts & living magazine.   a frenzy of color, shape, and gesture written by arlene distler gives an excellent glimpse not only into the studio of eric aho but into his mind set as an artist and his motivation behind each series of paintings.

hidell brooks gallery is so excited for amanda talley who was honored this past friday night at the new orleans museum of art annual love in the garden celebration. LOVE honors local artists whose work and lives have made a contribution to the city of new orleans. 

so excited to hear the state of utah recently acquired one of brad aldridge's gorgeous paintings to permanently hang in the utah state capitol.

the october issue of traditional home magazine features the gorgeous adamsleigh showhouse in greensboro from this past spring.  hidell brooks gallery had the pleasure of visiting the house plus helping designers lisa mende and traci zeller of charlotte select the perfect works of art for their gentlemen's dressing room.

arless day and a wonderful client collaborated on two commissions for their pied-a-terre in clemson, sc.  the client is from clemson and wanted the collages to reflect her love of clemson. 

with all the television shows being shot in charlotte these days hidell brooks' artists are getting a lot of screen time!  charles edward walker paintings can be seen in the upcoming season of the hbo series eastbound and down episodes 6, 7, and 8 airing this fall.  good television with great art.
