carolina girls are in the house tonight for our march gallery opening for mary rountree moore and virginia scotchie. no better way to get ready for warmer weather than to walk into the gallery surrounded by mary rountree moore’s abstract landscapes of the carolina coast.

the line up of exhibitions for this year at hidell brooks is exhilarating to say the least. we will be exhibiting 27 artists over the course of the year working in diverse mediums and styles. our highly anticipated introductions exhibition this summer curated over the last 3 years will be one not to be missed.

we cannot hardly believe the first gallery opening of 2019 is tomorrow! we are thrilled to be opening four solo exhibitions for four amazing painters philip geiger, francis livingston, kim testone and brigid watson.

hidell brooks is capping off the year with a phenomenal solo exhibition for north carolina artist herb jackson opening this friday. across time gives the viewer the rare opportunity to see 40 years of the artist’s work hung together for the first time.

i first experienced todd murphy’s work 20 years ago. i can still remember entering the exhibition in the long soho gallery on greene street where is work was showing. instead of the expected display of individual pieces, this show was an immersive environment in todd’s world.

cannot believe it is already time for the october opening of solo exhibitions for todd murphy and daniel anselmi. two highly anticipated exhibition we have been working on for over a year.

hidell brooks is super excited for our september opening tonight for david kroll and ron porter.  very special to follow up our big 20th year exhibition with another amazing show by seattle based painter david kroll. 

We first discovered artist Daniel Anselmi’s work at the Hidell Brooks 20th anniversary exhibition in July. I was immediately drawn to the shapes and textures of Daniel’s work which reminds me of the style of Pablo Picasso.

we just received our 20th anniversary pictures back and cannot believe the celebration was a little over a week ago.
