hidell brooks gallery is pleased to be sponsoring the mint museum's spring celebration room to bloom. this year is especially exciting for the mint auxiliary for it is celebrating the 60th anniversary of room to bloom. over this time the auxiliary has contributed over $12,000,000 towards the mint museum, including funds and acquisitions. funds raised in 2013 will support a year-long mint museum art program for students in an economically challenged neighborhood, as well as provide tours for charlotte mecklenburg school students during the mueum's blockbuster exhibition, inventing the modern world: decorative arts at the world's fairs 1851-1939.
we are very excited to hear mary mcdonald speak at the symposium a luncheon held at the charlotte country club on wednesday april 17th. the los angeles based interior design is one of the most sought after in the country with her ability to create elegant modern interiors. she was featured on bravo tv's million dollar decorators and also on the list of house beautiful's top 100 designers. her first book mary mcdonald: interiors is in it's fifth printing and her second book is due out in 2014. she has just launched a line of fabrics and trim for f. schumacher, working on a rug line for patterson, flynn and martin and adding new designs to robert abbey lighting. a busy women who is a constant tastemaker. since we are sponsors we will get to meet mary wednesday night at the commencemint party. looking forward to giving you all the scoop.
