one of the favorite parts of our job is when we receive new work from our artists. hidell brooks just unpacked a crate of gorgeous paintings by miranda lake. miranda lives and works in new orleans and is a proud graduate of unc-chapel hill. her collage and encaustic paintings have always had a dream like quality. a painting by miranda lake was just included in the new book A Unique Slant of Light: The Bicentennial History of Art in Louisiana. a beautiful new book cataloging 200 years of art in the state of louisiana.
