our new artist john westmark is currently on the cover of surface design journal. the summer issue spotlights gender. the surface design journal is a quarterly print publication focused on the creative exploration of fiber and fabric. westmark recently won the factor prize for southern art and is a pollack-krasner grant recipient. he creates large scale figurative paintings by combining paper sewing patterns with paint making the subject the female form.
