hidell brooks is ecstatic to be having our first solo exhibition of new paintings and works on paper for new york artist mary nelson sinclair.  born and raised in dallas, texas, she received her bfa from the pratt institute in 2008. after internships at chanel, carolina herrera and domino magazine, mary nelson decided to blend her love of arts and interiors by working in textile design at vanderhurd. after an amazing experience there she made the huge step to become a full-time artist.  a recent blog on the lifestyle edit has a wonderful interview with mary nelson on the ins and outs of being a working artist.

“my process in making work is purely meditative. i do not really plan what is going to happen on the canvas. it comes as i go.”

vignette in paris la maison pierre frey

mary nelson sinclair was recently commissioned by cabana magazine and la maison pierre frey to create four works on paper to be included in their vignette for the launch of the fadini-borghi 'gio' collection in paris.  mary nelson's wedding at the millbrook school in upstate new york to matty cruise is currently featured on vogue.com.

all new work by mary nelson sinclair is on our website under her artist tab.  she will be at the opening reception next friday, march 3rd from 6-8 pm.  please call the gallery if you have any questions.
