we have to say it is a wonderful feeling to see work back on the gallery walls! hidell brooks is by appointment only but we can share the beauty through cyber space. it does not compare to the experience of seeing a beautiful painting in person but we are thankful we live in a time were we have wifi. all the new paintings and collages by both page davis and geraldine neuwirth are on our website under their individual tabs located on the artist’s page of our site. we hope everyone enjoys the images and please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions. stay safe!

“i jot down fragmented thoughts. i pause. i write run on sentences and trip over my own words. Alternately the ideas flow with ease and eloquence, exuding poise and sophistication. stream of conscious nonsense and extraneous emotions are followed up by thoughtful, intentional words. color and form gradually develop into a motley cast of characters whose relationships intrigue me. they reside in harmony and yet navigate perfect tension.

eventually the intuitive process must succumb to calculation and if all goes well the characters develop and settle into their supportive roles. the struggle to arrive lies hidden underneath a sense of ease and the sum of ...”

“this body of work originally developed from a steady flow of doodles.  i am always making forms and marks subconsciously and at some point a very personal vocabulary is revealed making me aware of the inner life that exists.  the theme has to do with the circus, carnival and theatre.... such as the backdrops for life and what you see is not necessarily what is!  it has to do with the layering of life itself.  the energy in all that exists and in mysterious ways build the realities of the material world.  surface and color develop through my exploration and process. it is about the present time and what develops from all you are and have into a visual experience of completion. i am using this language to create a visual balance.

connection and balance are important elements in what i do in my art as well as in my life. when one connects it ignites a life force and when in that state you are most alive.”
