in a blink of an eye

January 27, 2026 Hidell Brooks

The Seen by Robyn Rich

Gallery artist Robyn Rich is beginning a year long project titled ‘The Seen’.

The work will consist of one hundred hand painted eyes, created from images offered in trust. Each eye will be painted onto a found object. Tins, spoons, and small vessels. Objects that already carry a history of use and touch.

This project does not include names, text, or statements.

Participation is anonymous and wordless.

Those who choose to take part are invited to share either:

• a high-resolution image of an eye, or

• a photograph of a face from which an eye may be selected

The image will be used only as a reference. The painted eye will exist without identity or narrative.

‘The Seen’ follows the lineage of Georgian lover’s eyes. Intimate, private tokens that held meaning without explanation. Here, that tradition is expanded into a quiet community, many eyes, held together without voice.

Not all submissions will become part of the final work.

The artist will be in touch if your image is selected.

The completed project will be exhibited at the gallery in Spring 2027 and be for sale individually.

Please email robyn@robynrich.com the image or if you would like further information on the project.
