charles walker just finished up an exhibition of paintings entitled winston salem to dallas at the umstead in cary. the title refers to charles' move from his hometown of winston salem to texas a few years back when his wife started a new job at a museum in dallas. the change in enviroment and the task of setting up a new studio can have a direct impact on an artist and their work. hidell brooks enjoys watching all their artists evolve and change over time. the show at the umstead wonderfully chronicled charles' work over the last few years.
