hidell brooks is delighted to introduce our collectors to the work of page davis.  page was born in atlanta and now resides in spartanburg, south carolina.  she recently received her mfa in 2013 from the savannah college of art and design as well as her masters in painting in 2010.

we are so excited for the opening of our group exhibition women in abstract.  the show opens this friday july 11th from 6-8 pm.  a few years back we were blown away by all the women painters out there producing amazing work and decided to have a group exhibition focused on contemporary women artists working in the abstract vein. 

new in public paintings by scott duce arrived in the gallery this week.  scott duce lives and work in new york city.  along with his contemporary landscapes scott's in public series is a study in human nature and color.

portraiture has been around since the beginning of time.  from cave man drawings, ancient greek sculpture, john singer sargent to andy warhol portraits just have never gone out of style.  hidell brooks has always been fascinated by figurative paintings in general.  

summer is almost here and we are loving virginia scotchie's colorful ceramic spheres to brighten up the landscape.  if you happen to be passing by queens university be sure to check out her installation of spheres in front of the belk chapel.

hidell brooks is thrilled to be handling the new line of fabrics and wallpapers by our wonderful artist amanda talley.  the line is a reinterpretation and translation of her artwork.

one of our wonderful artist miranda lake sent us a lovely book recently.  house proud: unique home design louisiana written by new orleans based interior designer and style maven valorie hart is a visual feast of innovatively designed homes in the state.

another awesome install this week by designer beth keim of lucy & co.  one thing is pretty clear starting a room with a piece of art a client loves results in something spetacular.

in love with our recent installation in a high rise overlooking downtown charlotte.  a pair of paintings by windy o'connor popped on the darker wall color especially in the lucite frames. both paintings are from her new series entitled pulling weeds.

hidell brooks gallery is delighted to be representing the work of ceramic artist virginia scotchie. virginia is the area head of ceramics at the university of south carolina in columbia, sc.  she holds a bfa in ceramics from unc-chapel hill and in 1985 completed her master of fine arts at alfred university in new york.
