hidell brooks is gearing up for sarah helser's solo exhibition opening on november 7th.  in the meantime we had the pleasure of installing portrait commissions by sarah at a wonderful client's home.

hidell brooks is so excited to head down to columbia to check out the new exhibition building a universe currently on view at the south carolina state museum.  the museum recently underwent a new expansion and this show focuses on a specific theme that is connected to the musem's capital project.

charles walker just finished up an exhibition of paintings entitled winston salem to dallas  at the umstead in cary.  the title refers to charles' move from his hometown of winston salem to texas a few years back when his wife started a new job at a museum in dallas.

new paintings by scott upton arrived at hidell brooks this week. his paintings are straightforward in their beauty.  the deep saturation of the multiple layers of paint pulls the viewer into the depth of the painting.

hidell brooks is delighted to see a painting by north carolina artist jacob cooley gracing the cover of artvoices fall 2014.  inside the magazine there is a very insightful article on his landscape paintings.

new paintings by eric aho have arrived at hidell brooks.  they will stop you in your tracks.  eric is not shy when it comes to the amount of paint he layers on his linen canvases.

hidell brooks is so excited to take a road trip to see the exhibition line, touch, trace which just opened at the north carolina museum of art.  the uber talented selena beaudry has two large drawings included in the group show focused on hand drawn works of art.
